High Support and Complex Care - Disability skill set - CHCSS001XX

"I am a little worried that not only at Cert III level but also this skills set referred to as " HIGH support / COMPLEX care" there is still not a foundation unit of "Personal Care" ? So if the Cert III students do not require it and the HIGH/COMPLEX care students do not require it, then whom is mentoring and teaching this appropriately? With no introduction to some of the personal care support tasks & activities undertaken in this Industry do we expect the students to get their very first experience on the job ? - this does not seem very appropriate nor in the spirit of quality learning and education. If it is ONLY an elective then some training providers may choose to not provide this unit, and/or students get to choose not to participate in the unit which is equally worrying given it is a core support task/activity expected within the roles in industry. I note others have commented on this also, I think the aye's have it ? : )"

"I feel CHCDIS024 builds nicely on the Personal Care topics covered in the core unit CHCCCS031 to cover the more complex and high support aspects of this care. I am a bit surprised that it is not offered as an elective for the cert III though!"
