Core Units

"There are a large number of core units in this qualification. Some of these units limit the potential candidate pool for the qualification. Units such as HLTADM010 Facilitate a co-ordinated approach to client care, HLTAM011 Manage health billing and accounting system are not relevant to those in the public health system who would otherwise benefit from this qualification. I am not questioning the appropriateness of these units, however I think they should be electives so that the qualification is able to reach a greater proportion of the health administration supervisory workforce."

HLTCCD003

"When the Cert III Health Administration and Diploma of Practice Management are reviewed, will the Medical Terminology unit change to be consistent with the Certificate IV Health Administration? If this unit is kept as a core. BSBMED301 is the favourite unit of our Health Administration students. It is also used as a credit transfer into many other areas of health if the student continues into other areas with their health studies. "
