Infection Prevention and Control - Draft 1
HLTINF006 Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control_Draft1
"Suggest including all standard precautions - hand hygiene, PPE, safe use and disposal of sharps, routine environmental cleaning, reprocessing of reusable medical equipment, respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette, aseptic technique, waste management, and linen management - that are relevant to the individuals workplace."
"Suggest include or change as follows: Infectious agent - add in bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa - include microbial characteristics such as virulence, antimicrobial resistance, dose Reservoir (or source) - people - symptomatic, asymptomatic (incubating disease or chronically infected or a carrier) - endogenous (self infection from normal flora) - animals - insects - environment - dust, soil - food - water Route of transmission - Contact - direct or indirect - Droplet - Airborne - Food borne -Water borne -Percutaneous -Vector "
"Suggest name the 3 types of transmission based precautions. Of note, enhanced cleaning is not a component of enhanced cleaning per se. "
"Suggest you list the Standard Precautions in this section (hand hygiene, PPE, safe use and disposal of sharps, routine environmental cleaning, reprocessing of reusable medical equipment, respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette, aseptic technique, waste management, and linen management) rather than refer to just some of them - document only mention hand hygiene, PPE, cleaning and waste. "
