"Facials and Advanced Facials should be a pre requisite for this unit. The student would be required to identify and diagnose skin disorders and conditions, recommend home care products and perform a facial as part of this service. There could also be a section on combining modalities- and the benefits and cautions. "

"The original requirement was a diploma- great to that has changed. Students can go straight from a cert 4 to this? Do students still have to be in industry for 2 years before they can enroll in this Qual? "

"Do we still need to be teaching Mani's and Pedi's? The feedback from the Diploma students I have taught is "Why?" most salons don't even offer them anymore. The Diploma as level 5 Qual should be for the more advanced services our industry offers. Skin science, Body structures, Nutrition and Cosmetic Chemistry should be taught at this level. "

"Totally agree, there is too much emphasis on multiple assessments to prove competency, when it is not necessary. Increase the compulsory prac hours per unit, have a log book to demonstrate competency over time and perform an assessment when the student is ready."
"Yes! so great to have skin science, body structures, Nutrition and cosmetic chemistry back! They should never have been taken out!"
