Online & Social Media Training Package Products - Draft 1

Project Summary

The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) has identified eight cross-sector areas for the development of common Training Package Products in order to address common skills needs identified in Industry Skills Forecasts. SkillsIQ has been commissioned by the AISC to lead the cross-sector project Online & Social Media.

An extensive multi-channel consultation process has been completed which has gathered the views of a range of stakeholders across multiple industries in each state and territory and identified common skills needs. Stakeholders have included employees, employers, and representatives from government, professional associations, and training organisations.

The consultation has confirmed that there is overwhelming support for training in skills to conduct online & social media consumer engagement across all industries.

Consultation has indicated the need for eight new Units of Competency and four Skill Sets.

National consultation on Draft 1 of these new Training Package Products is now closed.

"Cannot assume only a PC platform. Provide the option of Macs or PCs, as identified knowledge evidence is different between the two."

"This looks suspiciously like 'required skills'. Much more useful to do as the Public Sector TP units do and provide a table of foundation and performance skills with the relevant ASCF numerical levels. Otherwise, just creates another blunt instrument for auditors, without adding value to the unit."
