SkillsIQ, under the direction of the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Industry Reference Committee (IRC), is undertaking a project to update the Training Package Products that relate to Tourism, Travel, Hospitality and Events.
In 2019, SkillsIQ, under the direction of the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Industry Reference Committee (IRC), submitted a Case for Change outlining the proposed update of those Training Package Products specific to the Tourism, Travel, Hospitality and Events sectors in Australia. The existing Qualifications, Units of Competency and Skill Sets currently form part of the nationally recognised SIT Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package.
It has been more than six years since the Training Package Products for these sectors were formally and comprehensively updated, and an update is therefore proposed to ensure they are current and relevant. This project will look to address the key skills and knowledge gaps identified across the industry, and to ensure that training practices are up to date with what industry needs.
Further information relating to the drivers for specific sectors may be found on the individual project pages:

Travel project page
Hospitality project page
Events project page
A validation guide with additional information and mapping can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
Feedback received during the validation period will be collated and used by the IRC to inform the final Training Package Products for submission.
