SkillsIQ, under the direction of the Sport and Recreation Industry Reference Committee, is undertaking a comprehensive update of Fitness Training Package Products included in the SIS Sport, Fitness and Recreation Training Package.
The key driver for the current review of Fitness Training Package Products is industry concern that existing Units of Competency and Qualifications do not align well to Fitness and Aquatic Fitness instruction roles in the workplace.
Draft 1 Qualifications, Skill Sets and Units of Competency have been updated to align to contemporary industry job roles; provide sufficient flexibility to support multi-skilled instructors; reflect current industry practice and trends and encourage the learner to complete the qualification. The proposed qualifications include:
- SIS3XX21 Certificate III in Fitness
- SIS4XX21 Certificate IV in Fitness
The Diploma of Fitness is not included and is proposed for deletion.
